A Marine Industry Approved Next-Generation Biofuel
What is Biobutanol?
Biobutanol is a marine industry approved high energy content alcohol that is produced in a fermentation process similar to beer and wine production. Unlike ethanol, biobutanol does not phase-separate in the presence of water, making it a very stable fuel for recreational boats and engines.
Ethanol - Free Gasoline
Biobutanol blended gasoline does not contain ethanol. Recreational boats and engines have had a history of issues with ethanol blended fuels including phase-separation, corrosion, engine degradation, and fuel system component deterioration.
Does Not Absorb Water
Biobutanol does not phase-separate in the presence of water and behaves similarly to standard non-ethanol gasoline.
Higher Energy Content
Biobutanol contains nearly 90% of the energy content of a gallon of gasoline. Ethanol contains only 67% of the energy content of a gallon of gasoline. A higher energy content means better fuel mileage with reduced CO2 emissions compared to ethanol.
Lowers Emissions
Biobutanol lowers evaporative emissions and, unlike ethanol, does not require a pollution-waiver from EPA summertime gasoline vapor pressure standards. Biobutanol blended at 16.1% by volume has double the renewable energy (RIN) compared to 10% ethanol (E10) and helps lower green house gas emissions.
Compatible with ALL Gasoline Recreational Boats
Biobutanol is a drop-in biofuel that is compatible and safe for all gasoline powered recreational boats at up to 16.1 percent by volume.

Approved by the National Marine Manufacturers Association
The entire recreational marine industry came together through a years long test program to comprehensively test and approve biobutanol fuel blends.
